Mangreen has had a reputation for delicious home produced food for years, ever since it came into the care of the Duffield family in 1960. Anyone who has had the pleasure of being invited into Leslie Duffield’s home will always remember the warm welcome accompanied by: ‘Do stay to lunch’, with the aroma of home made bread and hearty warming soups, followed by irresistible cakes and tea.

Now, with Leslie’s inspiration still strongly present, the next generation of Duffields is continuing the tradition of providing wholesome food for visitors and groups using the Orchard Rooms. All is home-made with organic and/or locally produced ingredients where practical.

Below is a selection of lunches and snacks that we provide. However, we are flexible and will do all we can to cater for individual choices and preferences – so please ask. All our food is vegetarian and we cater for special diets, if given appropriate notice.

Groups

On making a booking please confirm if you would like catering and what food provision you would like; e.g. Full day delegate rate, or whatever your needs are and let us know estimated numbers at this time. Please confirm provisional numbers 2 weeks before and definite numbers one week before your event. You will be charged for the number you request one week before, unless we need to provide for a few extra people on the day. The lunch menu will normally be either home-made soup with ploughman’s, or quiche, although other options are available. Most groups leave the choice of menu to us.
